Only time I've ever seen this is when the ECM got water in it, and it would fail
to energize
the ECM relay. Intermittent failure, when it didn't work, you got no fuel
pump, no engine light,
nuthin. Suddenly it would pop in.
I pulled the ECM shook out the water, tipped it upside down overnight and it's
been fine since.
Be sure to put the rubber boot back on the ECM where it's supposed to be.
