You can install a solid inspection cover, remove the plastic tube, and JB
weld a plate over
the hole in the inner primary. Make sure you replace the seal on the end
of the jackshaft bolt,
if it leaks by, it will allow primary oil to leak into and around the
jackshaft coupling.
Replace all the seals and o-rings, lockplates. Let us know if you hit a
glitch.
