I disassemble, clean, and reset the rocker preload every 5k miles on springers.
Unfortunately for the FL springer guys, the front fender has to be removed for
this.

Without fail, what used to be 7 lbs of tension, is pretty much nothing after 5K
miles.
Once the bearing surface wears through the green into the brown undercoat, it's
time to
replace the races.
