The cam chain tensioners are not adjustable.
For the record, they are -damn- tight springs on them shoes.
I suppose it is possible to have a spring break, but I've never seen or heard of
one.
If you just -hafta- know, stand the bike upright over a clean drain pan,
unbolt the cam cover and pop it loose, pour out the oil.
If you don't see any metal flakes, put it back together and keep riding it,
get it to an experienced ear when you can.
