Ok, just to clear something up, HD doesn't sell a 'gel' battery. They are still a
lead/acid
wet cell battery. The acid does not have a 'level' because it is absorbed into a
fiberglass matting
between the layers of lead. Hence AGM means absorbed glass mat.
Max charging rate is 1/10 the amp hour rating. Your 2 amp charger will not
overcharge
any of the AGM batteries. If you're concerned, put the battery in a bucket of
water and
fill it up to within a quarter inch of the terminals. The water will help draw the
heat out.
The other code name for the late style HD battery is SVR, sealed valve regulated.
The battery is shipped with 2 psi pressure. As you charge the battery, the H2 and
O2 that
are produced are reabsorbed into the system (recombinant battery) but if it cannot
recombine
the gases quickly enough, the pressure will rise and pop a relief valve. the
relief is a one way
valve, it can't let any air back in, so when the battery cools back done, the
pressure will become
a vacuum and suck the sides of the battery in, possibly physically damaging the
plates.
Look for the 'Plus' sign on the battery tender, these are compatible with the
AGM/SVR batteries.
