Don't rush to assume that since you have a code that something has failed.
Code 56 is a cam/crank signal mismatch.
Means in english, that the ECM sees signals from the cam and crank that don't
jive.
This happens when the engine rotates -backwards- for any reason, like hitting a
compression
stroke after shutting it off and it bounces back, or releasing the starter
button prematurely
and getting the same bounce-back of the flywheel.
Basically, if the engine light isn't coming on while driving it, don't sweat it.
