IMO, pulleys coming loose have little to do with the locking mechanism for the nut.

It's the minimal movement that the pulley has on the splines, even when torqued,
creates enough friction on the clamping surfaces to wear them down a bit, and clamp

load is lost.
The latest version of the pulley kit seems to have solved the problem for most
riders, but when you're running that kind of motor and driving it like an FXR likes

being driven, it becomes a regular maintenance thing to go in and retorque the
pulley.
