How to set up email filtering
So you don't want inane banter cluttering up the important stuff in yer Inbox. Here's what you do.
Netscape
- Open Messegnger (The Netscape email client)
- Pull down the "Edit" Menu Item
- Select "Message Filters"
- Click the "New" Button
- Beside "Filter name" enter "Harley"
- From the first dropdown control, select "subject"
- From the next dropdown control, select "contains"
- In the next field, type "{Harley}"
- In the next dropdown, select "Move to folder"
- Hit the "New Folder" button and type "Harley"
- Hit the "OK" button
Then to sort the messages in this folder by thread, Select "View" Menu Item. Then select "Sort" and "Thread"
Outlook Express (Outlook is similar)
- Open Outlook (The Microsoft email client)
- Pull down the "Tools" Menu Item
- Select "Message Rules"
- Select "Mail"
- In Box #1, Check "Where the Subject line contains specific words"
- In Box #2, Check "Move it to the specified folder"
- In Box #3, Select the link "contains specific words"
- In the top field, type "{Harley}"
- Hit the "OK" button
- In Box #3, Select the link "specified"
- Hit the "New Folder" button and type "Harley"
- Hit the "OK" button on the Move window
- Hit the "OK" button on the Rules window
